I find this to be very sad. Ok yesterday I recived my lifeguarding cards making me, officially, a lifeguard. w00t! I mean thats all good and well but the fact is that I took the thing in June and they just got me the cards yesterday?!? I'm glad I wasn't depending on them for a job!(you must have lifeguarding card before you can get a job anywere as a lifeguard) So anyway now I can work at the school this winter when the pool is open wknds. How much does this job pay you may ask? It pays a horrible $4 per hour then you have to factor in taxes! Thats not even minimum wage!!! And The lives of around 25 people are in the hands of the other lifeguard and myself. The driver's ed teacher is paid more than 8x what I am and he's responsible for yelling at a bunch of kids that don't know how to drive. The worst part yet is that to even take the course it costs near $100. working at the school I can make that back in about 4 years. It really is sad.
